“MCA” aka the late Adam Yauch, founding member of the Beastie Boys is paid tribute here with a unique piece done with a palette knife. A technique known as “impasto” that was made famous by the legendary Vincent Van Gogh, a personal hero of Michael’s.

Done in celebration of MCA’s birthday, this was a very difficult piece. Instantly recognizable to many people, this tribute piece is a cherished keepsake to those still mourning the loss of such a great young talent.

Adam Nathaniel Yauch (pronounced /jaʊk/; August 5, 1964 – May 4, 2012) was an American rapper, bass player and filmmaker who was a founding member of the hip hop group Beastie Boys. He used the stage name MCA.
